Hanna Lowell was the head of a pharmaceutical company called Lowell Pharmaceuticals who was also personally responsible for sending a SWAK letter to the NCIS Headquarters in Washington D.C, forcing the building to be evacuated while Special Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Anthony DiNozzo, Caitlin Todd and Timothy McGee who had direct contact with the letter were put into isolation as a precaution. Hanna later revealed that she was dying from an inoperable brain tumor which meant that the chances of her being jailed for her actions were very slim.

  • Hanna Lowell was the head of a pharmaceutical company called Lowell Pharmaceuticals who was also personally responsible for sending a SWAK letter to the NCIS Headquarters in Washington D.C, forcing the building to be evacuated while Special Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Anthony DiNozzo, Caitlin Todd and Timothy McGee who had direct contact with the letter were put into isolation as a precaution. Abigail Sciuto later discovered that the power was in fact a genetically altered strain of Y. pestis (which in Latin means plague) can cause problems if it gets into the lungs and cannot be cured by any kind of antibiotic. The reason for Hanna doing this was because her daughter Sarah Lowell had seemingly been raped in May 2001 but the case had gone cold, forcing an angry Hanna to take justice into her hands by sending a biological threat to NCIS as she felt that the agency had lied to protect the Navy and a midshipman whom she suspected had raped her daughter. Hanna later revealed that she was dying from an inoperable brain tumor which meant that the chances of her being jailed for her actions were very slim. Despite this, Hanna was arrested for launching a biological attack on a federal agency but her final fate is not know. It's presumed that she was either eventually jailed or that she later succumbed to the brain tumor that was beginning to affect her while presumably in custody.
