Using Cormerran technology, Elyza modified the weapon to be powered by life force, much like the LD did in Random Kingdom III, and then sacrificed herself and a platoon of Cormerran soldiers (presumably the entire Cormerran force of Germanistan) to fuel a shot by the weapon at XenoGaia - not knowing of course that the entity absorbs souls and thus only becomes more powerful if receiving a blast of life-force. is a large, stationary piece of artillery that was built by The Reich in (or by) the city of Beaumont, France, originally to bombard Paris. Later, it's purpose was expanded to attack London across the channel and finally, it was upgraded to an intercontinental ballistic weapon to attack American cities. The Grand cannon is basically a large turret capable of firing very powerful shells to an extreme range. The cannons are effective against both infantry and tanks, and would cause considerable collateral damage in the area around the target. Any lightly armoured unit that was unlucky enough to get within its range of fire could be destroyed in a single shot, which includes some infantry as well. They also do splash damage, so even when playing against an easy enemy in skirmish, a Grand cannon can kill AI basic infantry battalions with three shots at most. Their range is comparable to that of most siege units, and only air units can safely dispatch these gargantuan turrets.
