abstract
| - Christopher John "Chris" Lines (born 30 November 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Bristol Rovers.
- Chris Lines is a product of the youth system at Bristol Rovers, graduating from the Bristol Academy of Sport. He made his first team debut in January 2006 at the age of 20, but remained a fringe player at the club during his first two seasons. Eventually he forced his way into a regular starting spot midway through the 2007-08 season, replacing Lewis Haldane as first choice on the left side of midfield and putting in some impressive performances. After having forced his way into first team contention he became an almost permanent fixture in the senior team lineup, his performances attracting attention from several other teams. In January 2010 with his contract approaching expiry he was courted by a number of teams, but elected to sign a new long-term contract with Rovers, taking him up to the summer of 2013. That contract proved to be a wise move for Rovers as it allowed them to garner a transfer fee in 2011 when he was signed by Sheffield Wednesday in August of that year. He had spent time training with Crystal Palace in the summer of 2011, but they elected not to sign him, allowing Wednesday to make their move shortly after the start of the season. In all Chris played 168 league games and scored 21 goals in his six years as a Rovers first team player.
