| - The Scarazap is a species of Rahi, native to the desert regions of Vamak-Nui. These large, beetle-like Rahi are usually peaceful, but are also known to be highly territorial. Their massive pincers, which are larger in males, can easily slice through a Matoran's body. Even more fearsome, however, is their ability to discharge an electric shock. Though a young specimen is hardly dangerous, a large adult's shocks can be quite fatal. Their shells are highly resistant to electricity, a trait maintained even after separation from a specimen.

A Scarazap is only about a foot long at hatching, and able to administer a minor shock for defense. After growing to about three feet long, the Scarazap grub can stun a Matoran easily. After a molt, the Scarazap emerges as an adult, equipped with its full pincers and toughened shell. Adults can grow up to five feet high, and over ten feet long, not including its pincers. At this size, they can easily kill a Matoran with a direct shock. Though their armor is tough, their vital organs lie close to the surface, and power weapons, like Kopra's Power Sword, can dispatch them.
