Dru grew up with her uncle who was a mage. He was to teach her magic spells and ways of magic, but Dru didn't really catch on to how to use them. So her uncle gave her a focus in which to channel her spells, which was an old deck of playing cards. Dru started catching on and was able to start making her own cards. After completing level one of her training, her uncle gave her a more powerful book to study, the first spell Dru learned was Dopplerganger, to clone oneself. Dru loved playing with the spell using it to confuse people or get herself out of trouble. So much in fact she ran out of cards alot. so her uncle tattooed the focus spell on her wrists, which does drain her a bit, to stop her from over using it. So her parents searched for a school to help her deal with her ablities and to keep her out of trouble. They found The Academy, so they applied to get her in.
