She is said to take the form of a sphinx (from Sefenlander: sefen, "singer," and fenex, "phoenix" - on this Earth, phoenixes are lions that burn and are reborn, not birds - a minor type of nameless god from ancient Crahia). In the Faith of the Mother Sphinx she is the ultimate god who created the world, and the other gods. The other gods created the first races of men, but the Sphinx made the Oremen of gold to be her sons with bravery untold. In their myths she has given them absolute dominion over this Earth. The White Sphinx represents purity, royalty, and authority. It is favored by the Emperors of the Sefenlands, and in the East Wing of the Sefenlands. The Red Sphinx represents the ambitions of the Red Wheelhouse (from Reyshi Radhaus, "Kinghouse," from Sefenlander Retas Xou, "House of Wheels"); which can range from peaceful, and loving to war-like, and power-hungry. The Black Sphinx is favored in Oporos, but only exists as a national symbol, and is usually depicted as eating its own tail. The two-headed sphinx is a symbol favored through the Six Dragon Kingdoms. The House of Oporos, for whom the Kingdom of Oporos is named for, used a two-headed self-devouring black sphinx as their heraldry.
