Fitzwilliam P. Dalton II was the father of Fitzwilliam P. Dalton III. It was his idea to make his son spy on young Jack Sparrow. He had an avid interest in birds and taught his son how to send messages using a carrier pigeon. It was because of this ploy that Fitzwilliam P. Dalton III, the East India Trading Company and the British Royal Navy were able to track down Jack Sparrow and his pirate father, Captain Teague.
