Allaster William Buchanan (b. May 17, 1927 in Winnipeg, Manitoba - d.   • Allaster William Buchanan (b. May 17, 1927 in Winnipeg, Manitoba - d. January 17, 1994) was a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger who played 4 games in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs in late 40s. He played junior hockey for the powerful Winnipeg Monarchs from 1944 to 1947. During his stay there, the Monarchs won the Memorial Cup in 1946. Buchanan played one season for the junior Toronto Marlboros and graduated to the senior Marlboros in 1948-49. They won the Allan Cup in 1949-50. During that season Buchanan also played his one and only NHL game for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Buchanan continued to play senior hockey until he retired in 1955. He won another Allan Cup in 1953 with the Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen.
