While each captain the leader of their ship, many heed Amaro’s word due to a respect for his reputation. The group has had a great deal of success, causing fear and discord in the seas of southern Auros. Though facing harassment by the Ulyssian navy, these forces have been repelled each of the four campaigns, the final being devastating and embarrassing for Ulyssa. For the free men and women of the Qadin Falding, they can retire to comfort within some years of joining. Many choose not to leave to remain a part of this brotherhood, and there is a strong loyalty-- at least to Amaro de Arena. However, Amaro is considerably aged and weathered. Although his word is still highly respected and his age unknown, whispers come and go of power plays by other notable figures and right hand men, captains of ships under his command. Some captains have even dispersed from the main group as though not wanting to be caught in the crossfire.
