The London Scottish is a Territorial unit of the British Army. They were formed in 1859 as part of the Volunteer Force by residents of Scottish origin. The regiment subsequently saw service in the Second Anglo-Boer War and both World Wars, and now forms A Company of the London Regiment. They continue to wear highland dress, with a kilt in "Hodden Grey" material, chosen by the unit's founder, Lord Elcho, later The Earl of Wemyss and March. The regimental museum, in Horseferry Road, Westminster, is open by appointment.
