Kent McDonell (born May 1, 1979 in Williamstown, Ontario) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He has played 32 games in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He played junior with the Guelph Storm and won a silver medal with Canada's team at the 1998 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. McDonell was originally chosen 225th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. After he and the club could not come to terms, he re-entered the draft and was chosen 181st overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
