  • A memory stone was a Ventooinian stone with the ability to absorb sounds. The sounds could later be played by touching the memory stone to a special mineral.
  • One notable event stored on at least one memory stone were the tales of Meeno Monak who attempted to avenge his parents that were killed at the hands of the Z'Nang. During his battle against his enemies as a member of the Green Lantern Corps, Monak diverted a comet with the intention of destroying the Z'Nang homeworld only to learn from a Guardian that the inhabitants were innocent and helpeless before the tyranny of their leaders. This led to Monak diverting the comet but his act of bravery led to him being killed by the Z'Nang as a result.
  • In XBlaze – Lost: Memories, Memory Stones of "Me" (white) and Es (azure) are assembled from the Memory Fragments and unlock the main story. Stones of side-stories are the riddle prizes, and their colors are green (Hinata and Yuki Himezuru), purple (Mei Amanohokosaka), red (Kuon Glamred Stroheim) and black (Tōya Kagari). The memories that are released can be observed by going to "Memories" in the "Information" menu option. ru:Кристалл памяти
  • Memory stones were part of an ancient tradition in the Protectorate of Grayson, dating from the early exploration of the Yeltsin's Star System. The survivors of an asteroid mining operation would carry a small piece of unrefined asteroid ore for six days, meditating on the debt owed to those who died in space, and praying for them. On the seventh day, the day the Tester rested, the stones were laid to rest by being launched into a trajectory that carried them into Yeltsin's Star.

Masadan agents blackmailed Samuel Mueller, Steadholder Mueller, into giving Queen Elizabeth III and Prime Minister Cromarty memory stones with homing devices to allow missiles to passively home in on their ships. However, thanks to Honor Harrington, Operation Hassan was only successful in killing Cromarty, not the queen. (HH9)
