- John Knoll is an American visual effects supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). One of the original creators of Adobe Photoshop (along with his brother, Thomas Knoll), he is best known for his work as Visual Effects Supervisor on the 'Star Wars' prequels and the 1997 special editions of the original trilogy. He also served as ILM's visual effects supervisor for "Star Trek Generations" and "Star Trek: First Contact", as well as the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series.

- John Knoll (born 1962) is a visual effects supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). One of the original creators of Adobe Photoshop (along with his brother, Thomas Knoll), he is recently best known for his work as Visual Effects Supervisor on the Star Wars prequels and the 1997 special editions of the original trilogy. He also served as ILM's visual effects supervisor for Star Trek Generations and Star Trek: First Contact, as well as the first three films in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. His work on Dead Man's Chest earned him the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
- John Knoll is Chief Creative Officer/Senior Visual Effects Supervisor of Industrial Light & Magic, having been promoted to that position on May 23, 2013, after serving as the company's visual effects supervisor since 1991. He joined ILM in 1986. Knoll is an Academy Award winner, and has been nominated five times overall for his work on visual effects, and co-created the digital image-processing program Adobe Photoshop. He made cameo appearances as Rya Kirsch in Episode I, as Tannon Praji and the Coruscant fire fighter pilot in Episode III.
