Stan Grus was a private collector and curator of his personal museum in the deserts of Arizona. He possessed one of the ivory pieces of the Unnameable, who he had researched thoroughly. When Lara Croft and Carter Bell came to visit him, Stan Grus shared the history of the ivory pieces freely. They were interrupted by the minions of the Unnameable, and Stan's ivory piece was stolen. Stan Grus himself was possessed by one of the shadows, and he flew to Croatia to assemble the ivory pieces. After Unnameable was released, the possession ended, Stan tried to reason with the mastermind behind the collection of the ivory pieces, but was unsuccessful. Fortunately, Lara and Carter had tracked Stan to Croatia, and stopped Mr. Green.
