- Quicksand, sometimes known as Sinksand, is a recurring obstacle in the Legend of Zelda series. Unable to support significant weight, Quicksand will generally suck Link in if he crosses over it. Sometimes this will lead to his demise, while other times, it transports him to an underground area that he must navigate his way out of. In some instances, enemies can be defeated if knocked into quicksand.
- Quicksand is a block found in desert-type biomes, e.g. Oasis, Desert, Dunes. Quicksand spawns in patches 5-6 blocks across and 1-4 blocks deep. Like Cobwebs, if a player walks into quicksand they will be slowed dramatically and begin to sink into the block. However, unlike cobwebs, quicksand is solid and will suffocate the player if their head dips into the block. Interestingly, quicksand does not fall like Sand.

- Quicksand is a new terrain type in the next Bloons Tower Defense game. It is possible to put land or water towers onto it, but not any type of flying tower. However, any towers that are placed on it will slowly sink into it, eventually being destroyed. - Quicksand, also known as mucksand, was a pit of loose or watery sand that would drown unsuspecting victims. There were many pits of quicksand on Kirdo III, and quicksand was also found on Tatooine, Felucia and Tenupe. One was often advised to avoid quicksand.
- A unique spell, Quicksand can perhaps be the most powerful spell in Nature's arsenal - in the right situation. If your army has decent ranged damage capacity (from an Archer hero, elves, faerie dragons, water elementals etc.) you can devastate non-flying (or bound-flying) creatures with a few casts of this spell. Its use can be somewhat tricky, though the visible laying path introduced in the 3.0 patch helps greatly.
- Quicksand was then approached by Mongoose, an agent of the High Evolutionary. The Evolutionary wanted a tissue sample of Thor in order to create a species of super-gods. Mongoose promised Quicksand that the Evolutionary could restore her previous human form, if she could keep Thor busy for long enough for him to hit Thor with a ray and take the samples. However, Quicksand almost could not contain Thor, and she ran away the moment Mongoose finished his task. Quicksand and Mongoose were apprehended by the Thunderbolts. She has agreed to work with Baron Zemo.
- Quicksand is a geographical hazard much beloved by cartoonists and Hollywood but very difficult to prove in the real world. In comparison, it's not hard to find 'slow sand' on a beach or covering bloodstains in the road after a hit-and-run.
