- David Lane (born February 1940) is a British film and television director. He worked alongside Gerry Anderson on most of his best-known projects, from Supercar in 1960 to New Captain Scarlet in 2005. In the mid-1960s he directed some episodes of Thunderbirds and both feature films: Thunderbirds Are Go and Thunderbird 6.
- David Lane was a writer on Coronation Street January 1998 to September 2012 contributing 216 scripts including one co-written with Julie Gearey. He also scripted an episode of the spin-off Coronation Street - After Hours. David has also worked on Emmerdale, Heartbeat, The Bill and Casualty.
- Lane died in prison serving sentences for serious crimes including robbery, racketeering and conspiracy to murder. The murder conviction was over the fatal shooting of radio personality Alan Berg. Lane rejected Christianity and followed instead a twisted version of the Nordic religion. He reshaped the Nordic religion to fit his violent aims. Most followers of Asatru are better than he was. Terrorism is vile whatever the excuses terrorists give.
