The Interface Scanner is a new item added in to the game with Game Update 16 and plays a pivotal role in the new Piracy system. To get hold of a Scanner, players must first purchase a Schematic from Watto for the price of 50 Duty Mission Tokens. The schematic is a 10 use schematic, and experimenting with the crafting stages changes the number of times the scanner can be used (with a cap of 20). A manufacturing schematic can also be created for use in a factory, which will allow up to 10,000 scanners to be created from one Droid Interface Scanner schematic.

  • The Interface Scanner is a new item added in to the game with Game Update 16 and plays a pivotal role in the new Piracy system. The scanner is used to go through the logs of other ships and try and discover the flight plans of some convoys. Insert a Droid Interface into the scanner and scan the interface using the Radial menu. More often than not the interface will contain nothing of value, but there is a chance that the interface could contain the flight plans that you are looking for. A maximum of five interfaces can be inserted at a time, the scanner will scan all five but only use one charge. Each scanner will continue to have the same chance of returning any flight plans, the chances will not compound each other. Note: Only Droid Interfaces that can be reverse engineered (i.e. have a reverse engineering level shown in their item description) can be scanned using the Interface Scanner. As well as Convoy Flight Plans, the Droid Interface Scanner may also award on a far rarer basis: * * Ready Chip: Hyperspace algorithm for the Kessel System * Ready Chip: Imperial hyperspace algorithm for Deep Space * Ready Chip: Rebel hyperspace algorithm for Deep Space The items are Droid Programs so can be added to Astromechs or Flight Computers to allow a pilot to Hyperspace directly to the space sectors (where they would previously have had to talk to specific factional Space Stations).
