Top Bowers is a mercenary flyer who, with his “Death Squad,” perform rescue missions for pay. In his only appearance, Bowers and the Squad “fly to the Orient to rescue Americans held captive...in a small Jap-held town in war-torn China,” only to be captured by a Fu Manchu-like Yellow Peril, Harr Sang, who is perfecting his super-science: “I will control the thoughts of all men!” Bowers eventually escapes and sees that justice is done to Harr Sang, the captive American rescued, and the besieging Japanese killed.
