The RG770DX features a basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard neck with a 24-fret bound maple fingerboard with shark's tooth position markers which match the finish color. Components include color-matched DiMarzio-made IBZ/USA pickups with two humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut, Gotoh tuning machines and a clear pickguard. The RG770DX was discontinued after 1993; a similar model was introduced in 1994 as the RG670DX. A limited edition reissue was offered in 2008.
