The image I am proposing demonstrates much better the fighting style of airbending. Airbending is about circular motions from both the bender as well as the air being bent. Aang is using wide arm circles to bend air around a tree branch straight into Jet. This is not an offensive move, but more of a defensive one that allows Aang to remain away from the main conflict just like an airbender. 66.116.24.11 23:18, July 23, 2012 (UTC) The current one. Thailog poses excellent reasons for why that image is better suited as an infobox image than any of the suggestions. 10:38, July 28, 2012 (UTC)

You're right. I support the proposed image.Azulazulazula File:Azula sprite23.gif 15:56, July 24, 2012 (UTC) I support the proposed picture. It shows airbending better. File:Azula Sprite.gif Avatarbender(Talk) (My Fanon) 15:59, July 24, 2012 (UTC) Support proposed per everyone above 20:36, July 24, 2012 (UTC) While I agree with the reasons to change the image, I don't give much support to the proposal, mainly because that image was used a very long time ago as the main image of airbending, though I don't remember what was the reason it was changed. Despite the presence of characteristic spiral movements, I feel that the proposal has a background that is a bit too distracting. Most airbending images we have don't display spiral motions because the actual air is only depicted after the movement. I'm adding other suggestions that give a clearer shot of the airbending. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:14, July 24, 2012 (UTC) I like Proposal #4 the most. It puts much more focus on the airbending than on the bender (some of the other proposals fail to do so), and the training tool emphasizes the spiral motions symbolic of airbending. #4 is a good summary of airbending and a good picture overall (in terms of quality, color, lighting, etc.). Milkncookies11 (wall • contribs) 22:20, July 24, 2012 (UTC) Proposal #2, #5, #6, #7 would not make a good profile picture. These proposals are all just an airbending move: #2 is the air shield, #5 is the air wheel, and #6 and #7 are the air spout. The profile picture should capture the essence of airbending in its entirety not just a single move. Proposals #1, #3, #4 all show this essence, but proposal #1 does this better than the other two. Proposal #3 does not display the dynamics of the bending art, and proposal #4, while it does show these dynamics, it only shows the movements of the gates not the bender. I respectively disagree with Milkncookies11 because the bender is just as much apart of bending as the element. I am reminded of the words of Jeong Jeong in The Deserter, "Without a bender, a rock will not throw itself." While air can move on its own, it is moving to the will of the bender when it is being bent. Proposal #1 has a great balance of bender and element, and it also shows the circular motions that both must go through. Amarok II (wall • contribs) 23:31, July 24, 2012 (UTC) Oh and I am the anon that proposed the change as well as proposal #1. If that shakes your support of my previous comments and reasons, then I understand. Amarok II (wall • contribs) 03:10, July 25, 2012 (UTC) After much thought, the ones that I could support (barely) are only #1 and #2. #1: although successfully displaying the principle of Airbending (circular motions), the background is like Omnibender said, too distracting. #2: clearly shows the circular motion in practise, but the scale of the bending and Aang's posture just doesn't look right. If there are no further image additions, I would go with #1. 08:14, July 27, 2012 (UTC) I think we should stick with the current. It is consistent with the style depicted on both profile images of waterbending and earthbending (with a bender facing the screen) and it's closer to the one in firebending, at least more than any of the proposed ones. The profile pic for each bending art doesn't need to depict the art with perfection—that's why there are other images further down the article. ― Thailog 11:36, July 27, 2012 (UTC) Proposal #4 is the best. It shows how powerful airbending can be, How airbending is being trained (the gates), glider is also included in the image. All what airbending is about and of what it consists is being shown there. I give full support for it. File:Yangchen-sprite.gifUnnamed AirbenderFile:Aang-end-c1.gif 23:12, July 27, 2012 (UTC) The current one. Thailog poses excellent reasons for why that image is better suited as an infobox image than any of the suggestions. 10:38, July 28, 2012 (UTC) Proposal #4 10:01, July 30, 2012 (UTC) 2 more.. Bot are from the intro Gods Rule! File:Aang Cosmic.gif Not Spirts File:Kozilla Sprite.gif (Bending Explained) (My Youtube) 19:49, July 30, 2012 (UTC) Per Thailog, we should keep the current. A quick glance at these images doesn't reveal any that provide a significantly more accurate portrayal, and doesn't reveal any that go well with our other bending infobox images.
