The Alliance of Liberated Planets (APL) is a loose organization of planets formerly conquered and dominated by the Horothrium Hegemony. abstract	The Alliance of Liberated Planets (APL) is a loose organization of planets formerly conquered and dominated by the Horothrium Hegemony. Starting with the Vei, various species began to see the Horothrium War with the Nymean Ascendancy as their opportunity to declare independence and break free from their Horothrium taskmasters. When the Tareqi Dominion all but destroyed Horoth Prime in the Battle of Horoth Prime, they saw their chance and a general revolt occurred. Several species revolted and managed to quickly reclaim their planets. The Horothrium, stunned by the destruction of the Ethlar surrendered or evacuated many of these planets. Knowing that the Horothrium would only reconquer them if not totally defeated, the various planets joined in a loose alliance and declared nominal war on the Horothrium Hegemony. Representatives of all the allied planets met on Tagol IV to sign the Treaty of Tagol IV allying themselves to the Nymeans and the reformed Horothrium who split from the Hegemony. In the treaty, all sides pledged not to rest until the Hegemony was defeated. It is unknown what will happen to the planets after the defeat of the Hegemony.
