The Tanto-class Interceptor is the Shau'ghunate Guard's dedicated interceptor. The Mark III version served the Shau'ghunate prior to first contact with the Loris Empire, but as of 15 ABY, the Guard has upgraded the Tanto using technology from the Isen Star Empire, the Black Star Confederacy, and other sources. The only Mark III Tantos now in service were taken from the captured fleet of ex-Commander Kai'to Musashi. The Jade Empire routinely uses the Mark IV and produces the Mark IV/a, which was updated with Sandian drive tech.
