There are many locations to mine iron ore, but one of the best members' places to mine iron for banking is Ardougne Monastery. It has six iron rocks total that are all very close to each other. Players can teleport there quickly with an Ardougne cloak, which offers infinite teleports, and then either run the distance to Ardougne South Bank or teleport to a bank using an Amulet of glory or Ring of dueling, and finally, use the cloak teleport once again to return.
Players can also find uncut gems while mining, which can increase profit. A charged amulet of glory can help members find even more gems, but it is not required. A gem is obtained at around 1/282 chance when mining a rock .
Members are recommended to complete at least the easy Varrock tasks in order to be rewarded with the Varrock armour 1, which provides a 10% chance of double ore per rock up to coal when worn. Over time, the bonus ore provided from the armour will boost iron ore and Mining experience output, so it is recommended to wear the armour if players can meet the low minimum skill requirements for completing the tasks. Players with higher Mining levels can also occasionally opt to mine the nearby coal, but bear in mind that the time they take to mine might yield less profit per hour than just sticking to iron.
An alternative to the Monastery Mine for members is the Fight Arena Mine. Players can either use Yanille bank, which is a relatively short distance south, or the bank deposit box near the docks.
Free players, on the other hand, are advised to mine at either the East or West Varrock Mine. Banking can be done at their respective banks . Another option is the mine in Al Kharid. There is a bank nearby, at the Duel Arena. In total, 4 iron ores can be found here.
