The squadrons got to the planet, and split up, attacking the Vong fleet. In the middle of all of the chaos, the TIE fighter construction facility was being fired at by Vong ships. Typhuss led a squadron of the 187th called the Twilight Squadron to the facility after they delivered a payload of bombs to a Vong capitol ship. They split up and took out the frigates in pairs of six. The frigates quickly fell. Then, Typhuss received a message from the Scimitar Squadron's commander. "Get over here now! The Vong have reinforcements." he said. Typhuss flew over to their position through the battle as the 2nd Squadron took out the remaining Vong frigates. The Scimitar Squadron, who were an elite squad and piloted TIE/D Defenders, were attacking several Vong ships. One of Typhuss's wingmen got blasted, and piloted his broken craft at the bridge of a Vong cruiser. It was the main command ship of the Vong, and was destroyed. The rest of the Vong retreated and left the system. The 187th landed at a base on Dac.
