| - The Brothers of Ypres are a Mekhet bloodline with the ability to manipulate poisons of various kinds. They gain a unique Discipline, Asphyx, but their weakness is that they can only feed on blood from someone who has been poisoned in some way. As their name suggests, the bloodline has its origins in the First World War, in which chemical weapons were widely used; the first Brother, Owen Jones, was Embraced after the Second Battle of Ypres in 1915. According to Jones, he was already dead from a cocktail of poison gases when he was Embraced, and by hunting the trenches he gained the ability to internalized the poisons and reproduce them at will. A Brother of Ypres cannot gain vitae if they feed from a healthy human. Victims must be suffering from some kind of poisoning, though the Brothers aren't picky about what sort. They have been known to congregate at sites of disasters such as Bhopal and Chernobyl, and there are rumors that some of the older members of the line maintain their own private stocks of chemical weapons as insurance in case the herd gets thin.
