He won the Coaches Choice award in 2003 in the reserve squad. His trademark's were his long sleeve guernsey and quick pace. Fielder was a Small Defender or Forward, playing mainly on a Half Back Flank. In late 2004, Fielder left the Dolphins after being sought out by Norwood in South Australia. Allegedly he signed on to play for the Redlegs, before being seen with the Port Adelaide Football Club. Under returning coach John Cahill. In a newspaper article, Fielder described the move to Alberton as "The most beneficial thing I could've done for my footy. These guys are working really hard to help me get the best out of myself". He also noted former Port Power captain, Gavin Wanganeen as being "A massive inspiration and he's a reason that younger guys like myself play this game.
