Gul Nerwat was a female Cardassian. In 2370, she was in command of a squadron of four experimental Cardassian fighters. As leader of the squad she piloted the Yaro. Her mission was to procure a shipment of Federation antimatter stolen by Bajoran terrorists. After entering the Gamma Quadrant in search of the antimatter, she attacked the USS Mekong, piloted by Commander Benjamin Sisko. She also attacked the antimatter tanker Phoenix in an attempt to board it. However, she was soon killed when Lieutenant Jadzia Dax and Odo used an antimatter pod as a depth charge.
