| - Donny Cairn is the father of Chrissie White's son Lachlan. Donny arrived in the village after Lachlan appeared in court for the sexual assault of Alicia Metcalfe. Chrissie had put off telling Donny about the trouble their son got himself into, but finally had to inform him after Lachlan appeared in court and was ordered to attend therapy. Donny turned up in Emmerdale and encouraged Lachlan to tell Chrissie what she wanted to hear to get her off their backs. Less than a week after he arrived in Emmerdale, Donny was bundled into a back of a car by thugs and is beaten up. When he returned to Home Farm battered and bruised he pretended that he was beaten up due to what Lachlan did to Alicia, although Chrissie's husband Robert believed he was lying. Donny was in thousands of pounds of debt to Charlie that he was unable to pay, so he borrowed Chrissie's flash car and planned to sell it but the car got a flat tyre and that scuppered his plan. Unable to sell the car, Donny played on Lachlan's fear of bullies and suggested that Lachlan moved to Scotland to live with him, knowing that Chrissie's father Lawrence White would not allow Lachlan to go without. Lachlan was thrilled with the idea but Chrissie was devastated at the thought of losing her son. Lawrence agreed to pay for the costs of Lachlan relocating to Scotland, which would allow Donny to clear all of his debts. Robert's lover Aaron Livesy told Robert that he overheard Donny on the phone to the person that he owed money to. A few phone calls later, Robert discovered that Donny was penniless and living in a bedsit after his business collapsed. Robert told Chrissie what he had found out and she threatened to tell Lawrence about Donny's plan to extort money from him. Donny insisted he would deny it and twist it so that Lachlan would believe she would to anything to stop him from moving away for a fresh start. Chrissie overheard Donny on the phone to Charlie and for which he demanded the money to pay off his debts or he would set Lachlan against her. Chrissie refused and began plotting against him. She hired Ross Barton to help her and he roped Debbie Dingle into their deceit. Chrissie gave Donny the £10,000 he needed to pay off Charlie and Ross followed Donny to a posh hotel where Donny was to hand over the money and finally pay off his debts. Debbie stalled Charlie and his thugs outside as Ross persuaded Donny that he was one of Charlie's thugs and he handed over the money. Just after Donny handed over the money Charlie and his thugs walked into the hotel reception. Ross and Debbie made a run for it and ended up hiding in one of the hotel's bedrooms. Donny desperately tried to find out where they are hiding, just Chrissie phoned him and told him that he had been scammed. She explained she would tell him where Ross and Debbie were with the money if he stayed out of Lachlan's life, otherwise she would put a hit out on his life. Donny called Lachlan and lied to him that he could no longer live with him as he was moving to Thialand to look after his friends bar. Chrissie then texted Donny a fake room number but Debbie and Ross managed to get away despite Donny, Charlie and the thugs waiting outside. Donny has not been heard from since.
