The Alaskan Intelligence and Security Service (Russ: Служба Безопасности и Разведки Аляски/Sluzhba Bezopasnosti i Razvedki Alyaski), better known by its acronym of SBRA/СБРА, is the primary domestic intelligence agency for the Alaskan government, serving as an internal regulator and disseminator of investigatory responsibilities of a federal nature. Prior to 1949, SBRA provided all intelligence for the Alaskan government, before the KGB was formed that same year to handle all foreign operations (i.e. espionage, counterintelligence, counterterror, embassy duties).
