Cuba was discovered by Europeans in 1500 on the third expedition of the Castillians to Atlantis. During 1500-10, they settled Cuba. Its capital became Santiago (at OTL Havana's site). When king Henry IV reordered his colonies in 1562, it became part of the capitanate / captainship of Caribbea. Santiago became seat of the viceroy. Originally part of the Quadruple Monarchy / Triple Monarchy of England-Castille-Portugal, Cuba chose to stay with Spain after it broke apart in 1628.
