After a two years stay in Germany with ERSC Amberg, Basile joined Briançon APHC in 2003, where he still coaches today, since team president Alain Bayrou invited him to replace player-coach Juha Jokiharju. He did some good things in Briançon. He brought the team to the finals of the Coupe de France in 2005 and 2006, losing both times, however. He repeated the feat in 2008, losing again. His good results in the Ligue Magnus had him invited twice at the Ligue Magnus All-Stars Game (2006 and 2008). He has spent some time assisting Pat Cortina with the Hungarian National Team. This stay helped him bring some magyar internationals in Briançon: Márton Vas, Viktor Szélig and Balázs Ladányi.
