Synopsis
  • Ezekiel Stane howls in triumph as he stands above the beheaded body of Iron Man. Feverishly, he begins tearing into the armor intent on desecrating the corpse even further. To his disappointment however, he finds only an empty suit of armor. The real Tony Stark is elsewhere, controlling several different armors via remote control itself. He sends the other remote units to the various target sights of Stane's followers, including the S.I. plants in Valencia, Tokyo and L.A. Tony doesn't have time to face each suicide bomber in turn, for they have all initiated their internal self-destruct sequences. Iron Man is forced to create a electro-magnetic pulse specifically targeting Stark tech systems around the globe, including his own armor. The suicide bombers die instantly and the EMP pulse fries Ezekiel Stane's armor. Stane cannot believe that Stark would willingly destroy trillions of dollars of his own technology, but Stark rebuffs his foe's comments, citing that he would naturally build an off-switch for any weaponizable tech his company manufactures. Tony sheds his own armor and engages Ezekiel Stane in a fistfight. Ezekiel goes completely insane and calls Tony a pig, fascist and oppressor. Tony slams him face-first onto the ground, breaking his nose. He then contacts S.H.I.E.L.D. to have Stane taken away for good. Later, Tony stands alone in his office aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. He now has to deal with the tough choices he has been forced to make, and the lives that were lost because of them.
