abstract
| - The Royal Army Distinguished Unit Ribbon was a decoration issued by the Royal Army of the Golden Empire to units which demonstrated "unit-wide service of a clearly superior and distinguished nature". It was the group equivalent of the Royal Army Distinguished Service Medal, whose red and black colors it horizontalized. The Distinguished Unit Ribbon was rarely awarded to any unit larger than a regiment (1,000 soldiers). A notable exception occurred in 149 ABY, when Prime Legate Sorrik awarded the equivalent Royal Navy Superior Unit Ribbon to the entire crew of the Sith Star after the battle there and issued the Distinguished Unit Ribbon to the 14th Massassi Cohort and all Royal Marines serving aboard the flagship during the battle.
