  • John Mitchell – more commonly known as Mitch Mitchell – was an English musician born on July 9th 1947 in Ealing, Middlesex. He was the drummer, percussionist and occassional backing vocalist of short-lived band The Jimi Hendrix Experience and went on to play in Hendrix's Gypsy Sun and Rainbows and The Cry of Love bands, The Dirty Macs and Ramatam, before his semi-retirement early in the 21st Century and his subsequent death in 2008.

  • John Ronald "Mitch" Mitchell (9 July 1947 – 12 November 2008) was an English drummer, best known as the drummer for The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Mitchell was also known for performing with Hendrix's other band Band of Gypsies, as well as playing in the one-time-only supergroup The Dirty Mac with John Lennon, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and Yoko Ono. After Hendrix's death, Mitchell would front the band Ramatam, as well as performing as a session musician and having a sucessful solo career lasting well into the 1990's and 2000's. Mitchell was inducted, with the rest of the Experience, into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. In 2005, he was named as the 23rd greatest drummer of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine.
