- The Saren are a non-Federation race of traders who have apparently elected to ply their trade on the fringes of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Their Trading Corps made contact with Vemla sometime in the 21st century, where they offered the Vemlans highly advanced technology and equipment, including an automated factory capable of creating positronic microprocessors, which the Vemlans used to create androids. This sparked a golden age for the Vemlans, who up until that point had been locked in war with one another. But the Vemlans soon became overly dependent upon android labor, which ultimately resulted in the androids becoming more sophisticated, until they became aware of how much they were being exploited, and thus revolted against their masters. (TNG novel: Spartacus)
- Saren befindet sich im Gasthaus am Falkenplatz im Immersangwald.
- Saren is a major character in the first season of Mass Effect.
- Saren was born on the Outer Rim Territories world of Ryloth in 16 BBY. She was part of a power family and lived with her parents and two brothers. At first, she worked around the Imperial base at Ryloth's capitol, but Saren's owner, an Imperial commander, had to report to Darth Vader, and so him and Saren were boarding an Imperial shuttle, but then Saren knocked him out and escaped the world in the shuttle.
