| - Police Constable Cameron Tait, played by Daniel MacPherson was a Police Constable Sun Hill police station in the long running ITV police drama The Bill. A fresh face from Australia, PC Cameron Tait began life at Sun Hill with a near arrest of himself; Mistaken for a flasher by a neighbour it wasn't long before Cameron was introduced to life at Sun Hill station. He always thought he would live and end his days in Sydney, where he loved his job as a cop. But Cameron's life was turned upside down following a whirlwind romance with a British backpacker; he received a letter from the girl's mother telling him he had fathered a child and should face up to his responsibilities. He consequently found himself moving to England to support and raise their daughter. At first, Cameron found it hard to adjust to life in London being half a world away from friends and family, but slowly he realised he really did have a family here - the relief. He was an honourable, noble, loyal and good-humoured addition to the team, but his charming and loveable demeanour sometimes made his colleagues suspicious. He embraced all aspects of police work - even the more mundane duties. This occasionally raised a competitive element with other members of the relief who weren't quite sure what exactly he was out to prove. Almost immediately they saw Cameron as Mr. Sunny; nothing appeared to be a problem for him, although some were slightly put off when his more unlikeable qualities began to emerge - his dislike for England, his republican affiliations, to mention but a few. Cameron in many ways was very superficial - scratch the surface and there was a whole lot more to be found. After a run of what can only be described as bad luck - he was present when Sheelagh Murphy's baby died; he fell for the emotional minefield that was PC Kerry Young; and was helpless to save the lives of two small drowning children - Cameron could take no more and decided to up sticks and head back home to Australia, not before viciously assaulting PC Gabriel Kent, when Kerry revealed she'd been raped by him.
