Alice Westlake, nee Hare (1843-1923) was an artist, educationaist and campaigner for women's suffrage. The daughter of Thomas Hare, she was a successful artist. in 1864 she married John Westlake, QC, a prominent Liberal Party politician and founder of the Working Men's College. In 1876 she was elected to the London School Board as one of the representatives of the Marylebone Division. She was re-elected on three occasions, holding the seat until 1888.
