4D4-RA-7 was a protocol droid given to Forjj Blackblade by Emperor Palpatine. Obstinately a gift to aid him in his missions, the droid was, like the rest of its type, actually a plant for Imperial Intelligence. Forjj never became aware of this fact, and instead continued to use the machine.

abstract
| - 4D4-RA-7 was a protocol droid given to Forjj Blackblade by Emperor Palpatine. Obstinately a gift to aid him in his missions, the droid was, like the rest of its type, actually a plant for Imperial Intelligence. Forjj never became aware of this fact, and instead continued to use the machine. Despite the discontinuation of the RA-7 program by imperial intelligence (and the unpopularity of the Droid), Forjj continued to use the Droid as his assistant. In turn, the machine continued to file reports about him, regardless of the fact that they weren't actually going anywhere. In fact, the droid worked surprisingly well for Forjj, managing to effectively function in the roles that he believed it was intended for and often providing an invaluable assistant. In 2 ABY, the droid was sent back to Arakyd Industries for a regular checkup. Forjj was assigned a replacement for a single mission; however, during that mission his shuttle was shot down by the infamous Hawaiian Shirt-Wearing Rebel Pilot. Forjj was maimed and the droid was destroyed in the crash. From thereon n in, he became convinced that he was only shot down because 4D4 was not present. Even after he fled the Empire, he took the Droid along with him. 4D4 continued to serve him faithfully (and report his every move) for the next three decades. The machine was even present during his death following his failed contest to find a new apprentice, watching as he was cut down by the assassin. She asked the droid if it would report this. It did.
