Evelyn Mantilla (born February 16, 1963) is an American politician from Connecticut who served, from 1997 to 2007, as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives. Mantilla represented the 4th district and served for a time as Deputy Majority Leader. She was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Hartford, Connecticut in 1978. She was first elected to her seat in 1997, in a predominately Latino district. Though more American politicians are coming out, she is one of the few acting officials who is openly bisexual and a person of color. She has held leadership positions with the National Council for Community and Justice and the Hartford Sexual Assault Crisis Service.
