Doctor Ivo Robotnik wished to control all of Mobius by hypnotising them into following him. As a test, Robotnik hired Mesmer to take over a secluded village, with Seth and Maurice's minds being just two of the unwitting subjects. The pig and rat were tricked into believing that Knuckles the Echidna was "the chosen one" and that he must be sacrificed for the Moon Goddess. Seth and Maurice were eventually freed from the spell when Knuckles took Mesmer's staff for himself. The pig was horrified that he was about to sacrifice somebody but was reassured by Knuckles.

The pig and rat were tricked into believing that Knuckles the Echidna was "the chosen one" and that he must be sacrificed for the Moon Goddess. When Knuckles accidentally stumbled upon the village, he was given a less than warm welcome by the residents. The pub's landlord ordered them to take Knuckles' trunk to his best room, something they reluctantly agreed to. Later that night, the pair took part in kidnapping a young sheep as bait for Knuckles. The pig held a boulder that the lamb was restrained to but was knocked aside when Knuckles glided in to rescue her. However, they soon caught to Knuckles (thanks to the traitorous lamb), with both of them lighting the cage that would burn the echidna alive. Knuckles took the initiative and rolled the burning cell towards the river, with the pig yelling at the others to "look out". He then warned them to watch out for Knuckles' free hands. Seth and Maurice were eventually freed from the spell when Knuckles took Mesmer's staff for himself. The pig was horrified that he was about to sacrifice somebody but was reassured by Knuckles.
