Nigendō (二元道, "Way of Duality") was a branch of Kidō usage developed jointly by Kenji Hiroshi and Van Satonaka, with various insights from Ino Hiroshi and Kei Yume. The style was developed during the First Spiritual War solely to combat Averian who, by all indications, appeared to be nigh-invulnerable to even Bankai-level attacks. The techniques where developed through extensive study of the seven Kyūtai which Kenji and Van completed during their quest to safeguard the orbs. During the First Spiritual War the Nigendō style included a mere five spells, though this number had risen to almost thirty by the time Oda Kōhai reemerged in Heisekai. Kentaro and Ayumi would later add additional spells to aid in their battle against the Imawashī, Kikkashō and Averian's Espada.
