Katherine Hepburn wears it in a film (Maybe Desk Set [1]), but it has a place in anyone's everyday life. Designed by Charles LeMaire, winner of three Academy Awards, it is an easy dress to wear and requires very little fitting. A high stand-up collar and raglan sleeves make for simple sewing. The bodice is gathered to a shoulder yoke and falls gracefully into a side skirt. The waist is nipped in by a tapered cummerbund, crossed in back and ties in front. Spadea N-1149; c. 1960.
