Jason Lafreniere (born December 6, 1966 in St. Catharines, Ontario) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played 146 games in the National Hockey League, scoring 34 goals and 53 assists. He played with the Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, and Quebec Nordiques. He was an offensive standout in junior hockey with the Brantford Alexanders, Hamilton Steelhawks and the Belleville Bulls. The Quebec Nordiques chose him 36th overall in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. He retired in 2003.

  • Jason Lafreniere (born December 6, 1966 in St. Catharines, Ontario) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played 146 games in the National Hockey League, scoring 34 goals and 53 assists. He played with the Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, and Quebec Nordiques. He was an offensive standout in junior hockey with the Brantford Alexanders, Hamilton Steelhawks and the Belleville Bulls. The Quebec Nordiques chose him 36th overall in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. Lafreniere spent some time with the Nords in 1986-87 and 1987-88 before being traded to the New York Rangers in 1988. After some time with the Rangers, he was sent to the minors as a defensive liability. With the exception of 12 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Lafreniere spent the rest of his career in the minor pros and in Europe. He played for Canada in the 1991 World Championship. He retired in 2003.
