- Die Asiatische Elefantenkuh Ida lebte im Zoo der dänischen Hauptstadt Kopenhagen (København). Ida wurde etwa 1970 in Indien wild geboren. Bei einer Elefanten-Fangaktion wurde sie Waise, als Kalb verfing sie sich in einer Falle und hatte seitdem verformte Beine. Sie kam zunächst in den Zoo Mysore. Sehr bald aber kam sie als Geschenk für das dänische Kultusministerium als Dank für die Entwicklungshilfe in Indien nach Dänemark. Den Zoo Kopenhagen erreichte sie am 03.07.1971. Zu dieser Zeit lebten auf der dortigen Elefantenanlage das aus Thailand stammende Elefantenpaar Chieng Mai und Buag Hah, deren Tochter Irma sowie die Kuh Dinah.
