I want to battle.” Clembot: “I am the Gym Leader. The rules are three on three. Are you ready?” Ryan: “Hold on...You’re the Gym Leader? I mean, no offense but….” Ryan: “Never mind. Yeah, let’s go!” Clembot: “As stated before, this is a three against three battle. The match is over when one side's Pokemon is unable to battle. Only you can switch Pokemon.” Pokedex: “Heliolisk, the Electric/Normal Type Generator Pokemon, and the evolved form of Hilioptile. It stimulates its muscles with electricity, boosting the strength in its legs, and enabling it to run 100 yards in 5 seconds.” Ryan: “Hmm, a risky move, but I’ll go with-.” Ryan: “-Froakie!” Froakie: “Fro.” Clembot: “Use Dragon Tail” Ryan: “Water Pledge!” Ryan: “Froakie!” Clembot: “Thunder Wave!” Ryan: “Build up your Frubbles as fast as you can!” Ryan: “Okay, how about Scatterbug!?” Scatterbug: “Scat!” Ryan: “Get Heliolisk stuck with String Shot!” Clembot: “Use Parabolic Charge!” Ryan: “Scatterbug, get back!” Ryan: “NO!” Chespin: “Chespin?” Ryan: “Alright. Chespin, grab Heliolisk with your vines and slam it into the ground!” Clembot: “Dragon Tail” Ryan: “Tackle!” Clembot: “Use Flash!” Ryan: “Chespin, move!” Clembot: “Dragon Tail!” Clembot: “All three of your Pokemon have been defeated, you have lost the battle. Great work Heliolisk.” Ryan (voice cracking through tears): “You okay buddy?” Chespin: “Che…” Ryan (while crying): “No! I was too cocky! I let my problems get in the way of my thinking!” Clembot: “You didn't think about your battle plan. You didn't have a strategy in place. You only went for offence when a good defence can also benefit you. I think you should try other gyms. Cyllage City is the nearest.” Ryan: “Okay, thanks.” Ryan (to Clembot): “Hey, did the real Gym Leader build you to look after the Gym for him?” Clembot: “Yes, he is called Clemont. I wish you well on your travels and I hope to see you for another battle.” Ryan: “Thanks. And don’t worry, you will see me again.” Ryan (Thinking): “I’m so stupid. I shouldn’t have let Anthony’s words sting so much. If I ever see him again, I think I’ll both battle him properly, and apologize.” Ryan (still thinking): “I think I’ll take everyone to Aquacord Town for a break. I know I need one. I think I’ll head to Coumarine City after that.” Narrator: Ryan, still steamed up about what Anthony said, challenged the Lumiose Gym. However, Heliolisk made quick work of Ryan’s Froakie, Chespin and Scatterbug. Now, Ryan is thinking about what he should do, and how to become a better trainer. How will he do? Find out soon!
