Team Ayane, also known as Team 10, is a team led by Ayane Kasagawa and was formed once the members became genin. The members were specifically put together because of Ryuun Shukiro heritage. Since many other students wouldn't work with him, he was put in a team with his best friend, Koharu Hyūga, and Kiyoyumi Hiroko. The team was balanced for Ryuun having the best grades in the academy, Koharu having relatively high grades, and Kiyoyumi having somewhat bad grades. It was later revealed that Ayane had become the leader for two specific reasons: Being the student of Rei, and a promise that she made to Ryuun's parents that led to her gaining her special ability. Ayane also noted that Kiyoyumi seemed to be left out of battles in the past for her lack of skill, leading to the rest of the member

However she later developed her skill enough Ayane though of her equally as strong as the other two members of the team, and creating many combination attacks. After Ryuun rescued Rei Uzumaki from Hidoi's hideout, Rei became the new teammate, after being excepted into Konohagakure, since Koharu had defected.
