- He was the first player chosen by the Bengals in their initial season. He was the second pick overall in the draft, preceded by future Hall of Famer Ron Yary. Following his retirement as a player, Johnson worked as a color analyst on Bengals radio from 1981 to 1985.
- Bob Johnson is a former NASCAR driver from Tampa, FL. He competed in one Sprint Cup Series event in his career. That came in 1951, when Johnson raced at Darlington. Starting 28th in the mammoth 82-car field, Johnson completed 214 of the 400 laps in route to a 67th place finish.
- Bob Johnson (b. 1921, d. 1994) played the "voice on tape" that gives the IMF leader his missions in Mission: Impossible (1966) and Mission: Impossible (1988). Johnson was an American actor who's voice was also heard in episodes of The Outer Limits and Star Trek. Johnson was never credited for any of his work on Mission: Impossible. Despite this, Johnson was the only performer to be involved in all seven seasons of the original series and the two seasons of the 1988 revival. He also played the role for a 1968 episode of the sitcom Here's Lucy.
- Johnson was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He played high school hockey for the now defunct Minneapolis Central High School, and later went on to play at the University of Minnesota, under the tutelage of legendary coach John Mariucci.
