Frenchtown Charter Township is a charter township in eastern Monroe County, Michigan along the shoreline of Lake Erie. It is bound to the east by the lake, to the south by Monroe and the River Raisin, to the north by Ash Township, and to the west by Raisinville Township. The community is a bedroom community for Monroe, being connected to it by Interstate 75, U.S. Highway 24, M-125, and the former Dixie Highway. The township also contains the unincorporated communities of Detroit Beach, Stony Point and Woodland Beach. The population was 20,777 during the 2000 census.
