| - Bagstille formed The Ultimax with the aim of being a world-renowned hero. The "genius multimillionaire" had already done his part to save those in need, writing cheques to help people out. The bird moved his attentions to becoming a true crime fighter, enlisting Holly Thumpfoot and Theodore Abram Spartacus. The team were first called into action by the Emerald Hill Zone police to deal with the Green Gremlin, but were soon discovered to be incompetent when Dexter's Zebra X23 crashed. After slamming into a cliff, Dexter attempted to keep the team in battle formation, but was unable to successfully control his group. The genius turned to technology to save the team, concocting something that would win them the fight. Unfortunately, this would take nearly three minutes to complete, allowing Tails to step in and save the day. Afterwards, Dexter was unimpressed at Tails' victory and initially refused to join the fox in future missions. He quickly derided Tails' experience in combat, but relented after learning of the ties with other heroes he could make (and at the other members' insistence). Dexter's first full mission involved transporting the refugees of the Maple Flower Zone through Mr Diggum's underground tunnel network. However, the vain bird wished for everyone to know of his heroism and created The Ultimax-Eye, a television programme that would follow the exploits of The Ultimax. The hapless crew infiltrated the tunnels and inadvertantly told Doctor Robotnik where the refugees were hiding. Robotnik attacked the tunnels, caving them in. Bagstille fell into a slump, realising that his bid for recognition had endangered lives. Tails forgave him and asked Dexter to tap into The Ultimax-Eye's radio frequency to locate the trapped media. He attempted to do so, although he insisted that finding a random frequency as Tails flapping his tails. He continued to show disdain for Tails' heroism, thinking that he'd be unable to deal with a group of invading Badniks. Even when Tails saved the day, Dexter refused to admire his talents. Soon, Dexter made an announcement concerning his defeat of Iblis, taking all the credit. Amy ended up losing respect for him due to this and started to think Sonic wasn't all that bad. Dexter was put on trial for his crime of unleashing Super Sonic. Tails managed to find him not only guilty, but un-heroic in his actions.
