Louise Ferguson continued to shop at the Vons Supermarket on Reynoso Drive in San Atanasio after her divorce from Colin. A few months after the Yellowstone Supervolcano had erupted, she found that it had affected deliveries to the store. The fresh produce was skimpy and of a poor quality. The dry goods shelves had empty gaps where there was a lack of goods. It was fairly obvious that while local goods were still available, anything shipped from the East was in short supply. Some of the patterns were a little strange. While she could get toilet paper, tissue paper was in short supply. It might mean that the pulp paper that went into the one came from the Northwest while the other from back East but Louise made do, substituting as she could.
